Preparation for a student exchange programme at MDIS Singapore

Travelling is one of the greatest hobby and pleasure I enjoy the most, it presents an adventure of a lifetime and opportunity for me to see the world. And travelling does somehow allows me to get to know myself better, leaving me to learn to see things in different perspectives, leading to a happier and healthier life. But so unfortunate comes to oversea traveling, I’ve never been to any other countries further than Singapore for now.

When it comes to travelling, these are the daily essentials that I’ll always be bringing along with me.

Always make proper preparations prior to leaving home – i.e. keep copies of your passports and visas on hand, your ATM card and credit card information, your birth certificate and driver’s license info, as well as any other important documents.

Secondly, connecting people is as important as an identity card to me. That is why whenever I go I will definitely bring my trusty mobile devices with me such as the iPod touch, iPad, iPod nano and my android smartphone.

For some of you wondering why do I need to bring so many devices with me when most of them are almost similar and identical in getting my work done. You are absolutely right if you are one of the reader who has this in mind. I personally preferred different sizes screen, convenient and functionality in a certain occasion. For instant, lets say watching movie on an iPad reduces eye strain rather than watching from a small screen.

The iPod touch is a great pocket-able gaming system and camera.  Small, versatile, easy to carry everywhere and always available to use whenever there is a wifi hotspot around. Whereas an iPad is sometimes too big to lug around. Since both iPod and iPad could not make calls over a carrier network and does not support GPS .. its always important to standby my phone’s battery for emergency purposes.

Last but not least, do not forget to bring a portable power strip. If you're traveling out station, then an extension cord will mean you only need one adapter and you can juice more than one gadgets at once. For the techie travellers it instantly solves any insufficient power sockets in room issues.

Enjoy ;)
